While using Photoshop, we go through the menus and this is a huge waste of time. Below are almost all the shortcuts used in Photoshop with their explanations. File Menu

  • CTRL + N : (New) Opens a new study.
  • CTRL + O : (Open) Opens the works saved on your computer.
  • CTRL + ALT + O : (Browse) A browser-style window opens and allows you to organize and batch operations in the further folders where you save your work.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + O : (Open As) Opens the works saved on your computer.
  • CTRL + W : (Close) Closes your open work on the screen.
  • CTRL + ALT + W : (Close All) Closes all your open work.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + W : (Close and Go To Bridge) Closes your current work on the screen and also opens the Browse window.
  • CTRL + S : (Save) Saves your work.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + S : (Save As) Saves your previously saved work as.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + S : (Save for Web & Devices) Saves your work that you want to publish on the Internet or that you want to be small in size. Moreover, The save options are very detailed.
  • F12 : Revert
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + I : (File Info) So, this hotkey Shows information about the file you are working on. (File name, producer, description etc.)
  • CTRL + SHIFT + P : (Page Setup) consequently, Shows the page settings of the file you are working on. (A4, A3, etc.)
  • CTRL + P : (Print) So, it Shows the print settings before printing the file you are working on.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + P : (Print One Copy) Creates a print copy of your working file. Also,  You can then print from a computer that does not have Photoshop installed.
  • CTRL + Q : (Exit) Closes Photoshop .

Edit Menu

  • CTRL + Z : (Undo) Undoes your last action.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + Z : (Step Forward) Restores the last undo operations. (One action per application)
  • CTRL + ALT + Z : (Step Backward) Step Forward) Undoes your last action. (One action per application)
  • CTRL + SHIFT + F : (Fade) consequently, Adjusts the Transparency (Opacity) if you are using brush and similar tools.
  • CTRL + X : (Cut) Cuts the selected area.
  • CTRL + C : (Copy) Copies the selected area (selected layer).
  • CTRL + SHIFT + C : (Copy Merged) Copies the selected area along with all layers.
  • CTRL + V : (Paste) to clarify, Pastes the copied area.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + V : (Paste Into) Pastes the copied area into the selected area.
  • SHIFT + F5 : (Fill) therefore, Fills the entire file or the selected area with a color of your choice.
  • CTRL + T : (Free Transform) Adjusts the size, width and vertical/horizontal view of the selected area.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + T : (Again Transform) Repeats your settings.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + K : (Color Settings) Shows the color settings of your work.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + K : (Keybord Shortcuts) Shows all shortcuts and their settings.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + M : (Menus) Shows the layout settings of all menus and also all the options.
  • CTRL + K : (General) Opens the general settings window of the program.

Image Menu

  • CTRL + L : (Levels) consequently, Adjusts settings such as saturation and color channels (rgb, green, red, blue).
  • CTRL + ~ : (RGB) As a result Sets the color channel to RGB.
    • CTRL + 1 : Sets the color channel to red.
    • CTRL + 2 : Sets the color channel to green.
    • CTRL + 3 : Sets the color channel to blue.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + L : (Auto Levels)
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + L : (Auto Contrast)
  • CTRL + SHIFT + B : (Auto Color)
  • CTRL + M : (Curves)
  • CTRL + B : (Color Balance) It is the color balance setting. Also, You can get different colors by adjusting the balance over red, green and blue.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + B : (Black & White)
  • CTRL + U : (Hue/Saturation) Shows color, saturation and also the light settings.
    • CTRL + 1 : Sets the color channel to red.
    • CTRL + 2 : Sets the color channel to yellow. *
    • CTRL + 3 : Sets the color channel to green. *
    • CTRL + 4 : Sets the color channel to Cyan. *
    • CTRL + 5 : Sets the color channel to Blue. *
    • CTRL + 6 : Sets the color channel to Magenta. *

*Also, The hotkeys here only work on the Hue/Saturation screen.

  • CTRL + SHIFT + U : (Desaturate) Turns your work into shades of gray.
  • CTRL + I : (Invert) Inverts colors.
  • CTRL + ALT + I : (Image Size) Shows the dimensions of the page you are working on.
  • CTRL + ALT + C : (Canvas Size) to clarify, Changes the dimensions of the page you are working on in the proportions you set.

Layer Menu

  • CTRL + SHIFT + N : (Layer) So, this hotkey Creates a new layer.
  • CTRL + J : (Layer via Copy) Copies the selected layer.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + J : (Layer via Cut) Cuts the selected layer.
  • CTRL + ALT + G : (Create Clipping Mask)
  • CTRL + G : (Group Layers) Creates a layer group. In your works where you use too many layers, you can group the layers according to their properties.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + G : (UnGroup Layers) Deletes the selected layer group.
  • CTRL + E : (Merge Layer/Down) to clarify, Merges all layers except the main layer (background layer).
  • CTRL + SHIFT + E : (Merge Visible) Merges all layers.

Select Layer

  • CTRL + A : (All) Selects all of your work.
  • CTRL + D : (Deselect) Drops the selected area.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + D : (Reselect) Repeats the last selection you left.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + I : (Inverse) Selects the inverse of the selected field.
  • CTRL + ALT + A : (All Layers) to clarify, Selects all layers.
  • CTRL + ALT + R : (Refine Edge) Shows some settings related to the selected area.
  • CTRL + ALT + D : (Feather) Makes the corners of the selected area round.

Filter Menu

  • CTRL + F : (Last Filter) Repeats the last filter operation.
  • CTRL + ALT + X : (Extract) Extracts the region you applied in the opened window.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + X : (Liquify) From the window that opens, you can apply many different filter applications on your work with a brush, only to the areas you want.
  • CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + X : (Pattern Maker) Consequently, Makes your work into a pattern.

Analysis Menu

  • CTRL + SHIFT + M : (Record Measurements) Shows all measurements related to your work in detail.

View Menu

  • CTRL + + : (Zoom In) to clarify, Zooms in on your work.
  • CTRL + – : (Zoom Out) Zoom out your work.
  • CTRL + 0 : (Fit to Screen) Adjusts your work to fit the screen perfectly.
  • CTRL + ALT + 0 : (Actual Pixels) Shows your work in real size.
  • CTRL + R : (Rules) consequently, A ​​ruler appears on the page edges.

Window Menu

  • ALT + F9 : (Actions) The Actions window opens. Also, It pops up next to the history window.
  • F5 : (Brushes) Brush window opens.
  • F6 : (Color) The color window opens.
  • F7 : (Layer) Layer window opens.
  • F8 : (Info) Information window opens.
